The country wants to see more local companies grow in the supply chain, innovative and partnered with larger industry players to not only serve domestic demand but also compete globally. As businesses grow, the country's capacity, job opportunities and economic sustainability also grow. The Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy for Economy at the Launching the 'Enterprise Growth Connect', EGC 2025, underlined that at the same time, the country also recognises the important role of foreign direct investment, FDI and government-linked companies, GLCs in shaping Brunei's economic landscape. Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Khairuddin bin Haji Abdul Hamid, who is also the Joint Deputy Chairman of the Brunei Economic Development Board, further said, Stronger relationships between FDI, GLCs and local enterprises ensure that investments contribute to deeper local participation and long-term value creation.
Under the theme 'Powering Local Participation', the one-day event brought together over 500 participants including micro, small and medium entrepreneurs and 28 partners across various agencies and industries with over 140 business opportunities aimed at strengthening the local supply chain and enterprise ecosystem.
